OGCCS is first and foremost a Christian school. We are non-denominational, and seek to minister to all children, regardless of their church background. Our teachers are committed to serving God by using their gifts at our school, and come from a variety of area churches. The truth of the scriptures is integrated into all subject areas.
A challenging academic program based on the historically proven classical model, including a strong phonics program, traditional approaches to all subjects, including math, history, science, grammar and writing. High standards that are developmentally appropriate taught by highly qualified and experienced teachers and staff; holding children accountable to act in ways that are honoring to God and respectful to each other.
The beauty of the classical model is that it meets students where they are cognitively—how God wired them to learn. This approach takes into account their natural inclinations—how they think and learn. When students are in a school where the classical approach is used developmentally, they thrive because they are successful. They become confident learners and develop a love of learning.
Small Class Sizes
Oak Grove Classical Christian School is committed to small classes. It is important for students to be known by their Teachers. When classes are smaller there is greater opportunity for individual attention and nurturing. Students do not "slip through the cracks". We enroll 12 students in our PK3 and PK4 classes with a teacher and an assistant. Our Kindergarten class has 16 children with a teacher and an assistant. In first grade there is a teacher and a part-time assistant. In grades 1-12 classes are limited to 18 students.
